SJJIF fans and supporters, the wait is over! The most prestigous event of the SJJIF circuit is here! Held at the beautiful Long Beach Arena, in Long Beach, California USA on October 28th & 29th, the SJJIF 2017 World Jiu-Jitsu Championship & World Adapted Jiu-Jitsu Championship arrives with nearly 3,000 competitors and almost $72,000.00 USD available in cash prizes!
Some of the best black belts from around the globe are registered to compete and we could not be more excited for the epic battles that are sure to come. Jiu-Jitsu lovers can tune in to the SJJIF Facebook fanpage for updates and live clips throughout the weekend. Names like: Erberth Santos, Keenan Cornelius, Tarsis Humphreys, Isaac Doederlein, Dany Gerard, and others will be battling it out and bringing the highest level of competition to the SJJIF Stage.
This year’s tournament features our most stacked womens divisions EVER! Superstars like Tayane Porfirio, Gabi Garcia, Nathiely de Jesus, Luiza Monteiro, Jéssica Flowers, Maxine Thylin and others will be bringing their A game trying to make it to the top of our podium and claim that cash prize!
In addition to the traditional SJJIF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship, for the first time, the SJJIF is also hosting Adapted Jiu-Jitsu divisions. Such as, the first World Deaf Jiu-Jitsu Championship, World Special Jiu-Jitsu Championship, and World Para Jiu-Jitsu Championship. We are proud to provide such a stage to all of our athletes.

The mission of the SJJIF is to unify and organize existing Sport Jiu-Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Jiu-Jitsu national and/or territorial federations that share the vision of reaching Olympic greatness while preserving the unique history, culture, philosophy, and lineage of our sport.
The SJJIF believes that together, the SJJIF with its National Federations and members, will continue to develop the growing network of likeminded members who envision greater opportunities for our athletes and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as we believe that our athletes deserve an equal right to Olympic greatness!
Together, we will prove that we are a stand-alone sport and gain recognition and admittance into the Olympic program as a competition event of the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Deaflympics and in all other games of the Olympic cycle.
